"I was recommended to Carol after I injured my hamstring and Achilles heel two years ago. While she works on overcoming individual injuries she also looks at the whole person and helps train you to manage the health of your whole body. For example, she helped me realize that years of sitting and working at a computer day in and day out has done more damage to my muscles and alignment that even the direct injuries I suffered and she has worked out a training plan to keep my whole body in alignment. Carol’s program and positive outlook has helped this 60 year-old reclaim her body and I look forward to working with her to help me age healthy and gracefully. She is unfailingly upbeat, encouraging and kind. I would recommend her to anyone willing to look beyond the traditional personal training model. She works with the whole body an person."
"I began training with Carol a few years ago. I noticed results very quickly and have been much more in tune with my body, which has improved my athletic performance immensely. More importantly, working out with Carol has helped alleviate the pain in my upper back due to a previous ski accident. Carol has taught us different techniques on breathing, focus and stress reduction. She is familiar with each of her clients' limitations and customizes their workouts. She is good about pushing for improvement but always with a smile and the best intentions. Oh, yes...I'm sleeping like a baby now with my new knee pillow! I couldn't be happier."
"A hip resurfacing in 2008 side lined me. Carol was able to pick up where physical therapy left off. I have not met a trainer like her. Carol has provided me with exercises and stretches that helped my "healthy" hip avoid surgery as well. If you unfortunately find yourself a part of the "special population" as you age or become injured, Carol is your "guy". She will identify immediately your weaknesses and muscle imbalances that forced you off course. She is amazing at her holistic approach to well being and fitness. However, she is not only suited to those experiencing problems, if you are healthy and engaged in a fitness program, I would refer you to Carol to consult with her as to what form you are using/weights you are using and the other components of physical fitness to ensure you do not become another member of the "special population"."
"Carol's approach to personal training embodies the tenants of a way of living I want to strive for--paying attention, becoming present, and knowing and appreciating the bodies we live in. Under Carol's guidance, I have come to recognize the effects of a lifetime of bad habits doing everything from driving, to sitting at the computer, to picking up something off the floor or reaching to a high shelf. I am learning the importance of patience; After years of neck and back trouble, I am breaking old habits of holding my body so tight, of slouching and carrying myself so poorly. With Carol's help, I now recognize the importance of moving and strengthening the whole body. Her insistence on correct form for each exercise comes from a commitment to teach her clients about the causes and effects of body movements. She wants each of her clients to become stronger, move better, and live healthier. Carol's tireless passion for her work and her personal commitment to each of her clients create an environment that is supportive, focused, and rigorous. I feel blessed to be working with such a creative, animated, and committed trainer."
